Cebu doesn’t only offer water-related activities. Sure there are a lot of islands and beaches to explore but if you just want to be close to the city and if you’re into cars and racing then the hippest adventure to try are go-karts at KartZone. This is the perfect weekend activity with your friends.
Kart racing is an open-wheel motor sport with small, open, four-wheeled vehicles called go-karts. It’s pretty much similar to car racing except you’re driving less complicated vehicles that are easier to control. It’s an interesting way of releasing stress especially to the individuals who don’t have any technical background about driving. KartZone Cebu is located 8 km and 36 minutes away from Blue Ocean Academy by taxi or Grab. Go-kart rates are priced at P300.00 per single seater karts and P350.00 for a double seater kart. A helmet and 8 laps are included in this payment but you will also need to shell out P25.00 for a head mask for sanitary purposes.
Perhaps one of the frequently asked questions about go-kart is “Is it safe?” . Once you arrive at KartZone, precautionary signs are posted all over the walls. An orientation on do’s and don’ts and on safe driving is also given before going on the track. If you’re nervous about driving the kart, don’t worry because before starting the race, a marshall will quickly brief you on how to operate the kart. You’ll learn about using the brake, the gas pedal, and also how to start the engine. The track is a 600 meter asphalt road that curves around like a snake so be careful in steering your go-kart and make sure you grip your wheel properly.
The track is open from Monday to Saturday starting from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM on regular days. During the summer, they are open until 11:00 PM.
